Testing of Web Conferencing Systems to Allow Virtual Attendance of Meetings

In order to allow more members our our far-flung chapter to attend meetings, we're going to test a couple of web conferencing systems. We will be using Skype for the audio with Yugma (www.yugma.com) and Acrobat Connect (www.acrobat.com) for the screen sharing.

If you're planning to attend in person, please bring a wireless laptop with a headset and webcam. We will all attend "virtually" to get a sense of the system. If you can't bring a laptop with wireless connectivity, feel free to come anyway and offer suggestions (I'm sure it will be interesting). For future meetings we will have a USB audio conferencing system set up so that we don't all need to bring the hardware.

If you're planning to attend virtually, please send in your Skype username so we can add you to the Skype Contact group. The STC-NorthBay Skype name is "stc-northbay".

We will open up the Skype audio at 6pm. Please RSVP ahead of time so we can make sure there's enough food (for the "in person" attendees), and we have an idea of who will be "dialing in".

From 101 northbound .. turn right on Washington, left on North McDowell, right on Madison, and left on Novak.

From 101 southbound .. take Redwood Highway North (Petaluma Boulevard North) to North McDowell, turn right on North McDowell, left on Madison, and left on Novak.

6:00-6:30 - Networking and refreshments
6:30-6:50 - Announcements, round-the-table and speaker introductions
6:50-8:00 - Program
8:00-8:30 - Networking and program follow-up

Dinner:

We provide refreshments at our meetings for no additional cost. Coffee, tea, and water are also provided.

$2 members, $4 nonmembers.
