Localization

This presentation will give an overview of localization and how it fits into the technical documentation cycle. It will highlight the use and efficiency of translation memory tools in the localization process. You will learn what a technical writer can do to optimize the performance of localization tools, enhance the quality and usability of localized content, and reduce the volume and cost of localization.

Sylvia Winkler

Sylvia Winkler is an experienced Project Manager for translation and localization services. She is a certified translator for German and English and specialized in software localization and technical translation. Currently, she is Localization Project Manager for Mindjet Corp. in San Francisco. She graduated with a Masters of Arts in Translation from Monterey Institute of International Studies. As a law school graduate from Germany, she came here to start a new career as a linguist.
